Take a few bob with you and buy his new album - especially knowing how much Shields folk love the ballads. It is unfortunately not one of the weekends that I am due to be in South Shields, if it was I'd certainly stay over to be at the club. However Brian is at The Tiger, Long Eaton on Sunday 6th July.

Regrettably I'll not be able to make it to South Shields on Sunday - these horrendous fuel price rises have scuppered my mobility rather of late.

But (paraphrasing the silver-tongued words of the petrol ad-men!) those lucky folks who do get there will be treated not to a hollow Shell of a club act but to a mighty, high-octane Superformance from BP...
