The only ones I know are The Star in Glasgow and the one in Ullapool that I can't spell.

Dont know much on the west coast. But the Taybank Hotel in Dunkeld just off the A9 is always worth a visit or the Inn at Pitcairn Green just past Perth. The Taybank has a free festival on the first Saturday in Sept for singer songwriters. Stirling has a club as well. All out of your way a bit, but you could go up one road and down the other.
The Clachaig Inn in Glencoe, and The Nevis Bar and in Fort William have good music on sometimes but no club.

Well there is Girvan http://www.girvanfolkclub.co.uk/main.html which is on the coast (you get a great view of the Ailsa Craig from the harbor, and http://www.irvinefolkclub.co.uk/club.html
which is not far from the coast, but I think that is a little farther south than your planned itinerary. I'm sure you'd get a warm welcome at either one.

Session in Ferry Boat Inn, Ullapool, on Thursdays. Also music at the Ceilidh Place, Ullapool, occasional so advise check. Also music at Caberfeidh pub in Lochinver, Thursday when we were there but may be occasional so advise check. If you're in Inverness there are Blackfriars, and Hootenanny's. Enjoy.

If your route takes you via Inverness, look in at Hootananny.
