just found out that Steve Earle and his wife, Allison Moorer will be performing at The Festival of Islands on Aug.09 in Gananoque, Ontario... a nice community on the St.Lawrence River about halfway between Brockville and Kingston... cost $25... I don't think he has a band with him this time out.... then again he's solid on his own, and Allison is really good too... and much cuter...

Stormin' Norman's coming down from Ottawa for it.... be nice to hang out a bit.... I saw Steve a couple of times.. always a treat... lots of songs in that well... not afraid of issues either..

and you can't beat the ticket price...

Steve Earle and Sharon Shannon live doing Galway Girl. I sure wish I could make my way over for this concert. Phenomenal performer and song writer.

Want to go but were leaving for St.Thomas on the 14th (8 hour drive)and this extra trip to see Mr. Earle would put a hole in my wallet. Have a great one Ron and if you see Brother Norm, give him a serious talk about putting a c/d together and to include in between a song or two some of the short stories he has written. Not because he is my brother but I do feel he has some very interesting material that would fit nicely on a c/d.

"Good Bye Guitar Town".... excellent show... accompanied by Allison and Neal MacDonald...who did some pre-recorded grooves and FX a la Hip Hop... here and there on the newer material... played for close to 2 hrs. near the river for around 2000 people...beautiful setting, I'll be going back on Thurs. to see 'Cowboy Junkies'... the good news is that the $25 pass... is valid for all 10 ten days of the Fest including night shows....
