Subject: BS: White Horse Folk Festival From: skipy Date: 13 Aug 08 - 08:36 PM It IS this weekend, I know YOU will take the thread out, because you can, but the festival will happen regardless! Skipy |
Subject: RE: BS: White Horse Folk Festival From: Beer Date: 13 Aug 08 - 08:46 PM Never been to the festival but have spent time in Whitehorse, Yukon that is, and it is one heck of a beautiful spot. Beer (adrien) |
Subject: RE: BS: White Horse Folk Festival From: katlaughing Date: 13 Aug 08 - 10:47 PM skipy, do you mean This One? I LOVE the logo! (And, I am moving this up to the music section!) |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: maeve Date: 13 Aug 08 - 11:40 PM That looks like a really fine festival. I hope you'll have many happy folks attending this year. Let us know how it goes, please. And yes, kat, what a beautiful logo! |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 14 Aug 08 - 03:14 AM Lovely festival; sadly I'm too far away from it these days. The logo is The White Horse of Uffington - it's a famous hill figure cut into the hills overlooking the Vale of The White Horse (about 300 feet long and 2000/3000 years old). Google it and you'll find plenty of information on it. Mick |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: My guru always said Date: 14 Aug 08 - 03:19 AM Hey Dave, you appear to be more of an angry young man than when we last hugged, are you sure you're not quitting the habit? Really, really wish we could join you this weekend, if we could, we would. Know that you'll have a Fantastic Friendly Festival, am keeping fingers crossed that the weather will stay fair for you. Love & Hugs to all at Grove, Enjoy!!! Hil x |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Liz the Squeak Date: 14 Aug 08 - 04:03 AM Alas, circumstances beyond my control (and at present, Imodium), mean we cannot be there. Have a good one, but take the wellies - the forecast is not that good... LTS |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Deckman Date: 14 Aug 08 - 09:41 AM Boy ... you REALLY got me going, but only briefly. A festival at WHITEHORSE! YIPPEE, I shouted. Why, Whitehouse is only two hours away, just past Trafton and just short of Darrington. All of this is in Snohomish county, Washington state, USA. SSHHHEEEEUUUUHHHH! Bob(deckman)Nelson ... who lives near to Whitehorse. |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Leadfingers Date: 14 Aug 08 - 09:52 AM Despite the weather forecast I will probably get there!! |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: GUEST Date: 14 Aug 08 - 04:17 PM Will definately be there. What ever the weather it's not far from the caravan to the scout hut or the rugby club, both of which I will be frequenting! And not that far to the village hall for the concert on Saturday night. This is a lovely friendly festival with songs and tunes aplenty. Any chance of a late night sing in the showers Skipy? (that's my abiding memory of my first visit many moons ago!) See you tomorrow Karen |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Beer Date: 14 Aug 08 - 04:28 PM Sorry about that. I guess I have the wrong Whitehorse. Have a great time. |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: maeve Date: 14 Aug 08 - 06:14 PM I remember seeing the White Horse carving in the hillside years ago, when I went to England with my dad. It's beautiful country there too, even though it's not in the Yukon or Washington State. LOL |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Herga Kitty Date: 14 Aug 08 - 06:17 PM It's a lovely festival, but unfortunately clashes with Whitby this year. Hope to get there next year, when there are 5 Mondays in August! Kitty |

I am still wearing my "Help For Heroes " wristband , and will probably continue to do so until it falls off ! It was very nice to see so many Mudcatters there, especially Chas ( " Fidjit" ) from Sweden---safe journey home, mate. Eleven out of ten for the organisers !! Roger & Karen... |

Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Jack Campin Date: 18 Aug 08 - 06:26 AM Any chance of putting the photos on a server rather more any-browser-friendly than Facebook? I can't see a single one of them. |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Doktor Doktor Date: 18 Aug 08 - 06:39 AM It was GOOD :-) .. Suggers is still grinning. Kudos in spades to Kate & Dave. Sad beyond measure to miss the experience of Skipy in full voice - anyone have a recording ;)??? In passing there's not a lot of festivals where the headline acts get stuck in at sessions. Grant & Hilary in particular are worth their weight in the precious metal of your choice. Their Make Em Laugh session was exceptionally fine :D |

Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Bonecruncher Date: 20 Aug 08 - 07:06 PM Excellent festival, as always, although I was not feeling 100% due to severe cold. I know that everyone to whom I spoke enjoyed it. Colyn. |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: skipy Date: 20 Aug 08 - 07:30 PM Loosing your touch DP? Don't forget when you use a bayonet, thrust between the ribs & then twist, it will do a lot more damage that way! Skipy |
Subject: RE: White Horse Folk Festival From: Dave the Gnome Date: 27 Aug 08 - 03:34 AM Sorry I didn't notice this a week ago, skipy. PM on it's way. D. |
