Hello all you Catters!

Just to let you know that this year we will not be using the Town and Country Club for our song sessions, as it has sadly closed down!

The good news is that we will be holding these at Drayton Leisure Golf Centre, where we held our Song & Ale weekend in April this year. (Remember the snow!) The mini buses will be running people from and to the town. Also this is our campervan and caravan site this year, (No outdoor camping at Hanwell Fields this year because of building work) so for those of you with campervans or caravans, you will be able to stumble out of the sing and straight into bed!Nick will be getting in some Hook Norton Ales to aid your slumbers!

As well as song sessions there will be the usual Big Sing and Mudgather as well as other song sessions. This year we will be joined by Tom Lewis. More details to follow.

Tickets are selling fast and only a few days left to get them at the early-bird price.

Looks like another fabulous festival in store, well done to Merek'n'Dary!! Am very glad about having Drayton for campers/caravans & Sings, it's a brill venue (even with snow) with an excellent & welcoming host. Really looking forward to it!

I'll be there!!!! I'm bringing the caravan. I still haven't sorted out my power problem but I don't intend to be in it for long (except to sleep)and I've still got gas. Naughty Forty is coming up by train and sharing with me. See you there.

Hey Dave, does this mean you'll be singing at the MudGather?

Brill to see that we'll have some wonderful Singers at Banbury, looking forward to it!! Yes Anne, the Golf Club is a Fabulous venue but there probably won't be a Snowman competition this time *I hope*

Don't forget the MudGather, it's 2pm-5pm Saturday - bring songs & tunes, hugs & chocolate! Oh, and raffle prizes too! I wonder if the 'perpetual raffle prize' will turn up.....

WFD and I will be there.....Looking forward to seeing you again ,Hils--It's been a month or two. I am stewarding,and may well end up doing it at the campsite (as at Alcester ) ...who knows ??Shame it's not going to snow again (is it? ).Be nice to see Tom Lewis again ,too----haven't set eyes on him since 1967/68 in Singapore !!

Anne and I will be there from the Friday. I've been asked to run the sing at the Golf Club on the Friday night so hope to see everybody there!!
Anne's daughter Alison is playing at another venue at the same time so she is naturally going to see her and leaving me to get on with it!! Never come between a mum and her kids!!!

Looks like there are a lot of Catters coming to the MudGather again this year, though of course some will be working and/or supporting working progeny - apologies accepted of course, but you'll miss the chocolate *all the more for us then*

I've been on a steep learning curve & have set up a very basic web-page for myself, here 'tis! Positive suggestions & advice will be gratefully received, it's just a bit of fun though *grin* I can't quite work out how to get rid of the 'click' when it opens, obviously something to do with the sound bites but....

We'll probably have our new kitten (Rusty) in the caravan with us, she's too little to leave at home on her own yet. Also too small to pass around at the MudGather I'm afraid, we'll have to stick to Ginger Tom *grin*

Just got my ticket (camping) and stewards roster ( it says "reserve", so obviously means "captain of the heads", like at Miskin !!)in the mail today. Am really looking forward to it and will be helping Karen to get the caravan ready, test the heater etc. this weekend !!

All being well there is likely to be late night sings at all the campsites. No one should miss out. Don't forget the Sunday morning legendary Singing Breakfast with Alhambra will still be at Hanwell Fields, for those of you who can get up after the late night sessions that is! We will be running buses from Drayton and St Marys and once again the school PTA will be cooking the breakfast!

Weather forecast for the weekend is sunny! Definitely no snow!

Forget the credit crunch ..... Come and enjoy yourselves at Banbury.

All sounds Fab! Really looking forward to late night sings (thanks for info Merek'n'Dary) & partying, not sure if the traditional port & cheese will work given the circumstances, but we shall just have to see how things go!

Ah yes, chocolate.... Just realised that I haven't created anything special this year, anyone done anything crazy with chocolate??? Control yourselves!!!!

Wow haven't looked at this thread for a while what a lot to take in. Dave and I will both be there and will be singing in the Reindeer for 1/2 at 9pm on Saturday but we will of course be singing in the mudgather somewhat earlier and on the friday night as well I should think. We will bring Chocolate Port and cheese to be sure of covering all eventualities . Looking forward to meeting Rusty Hils !

Wow! A wonderful weekend. Splotty and I thought it was the best one yet. The weather was beautiful. Highlights for me were obvioiusly enjoying doing our concert spots and the Spoons Workshop. I am always amazed how people can play spoons like that after just one hour's tuition and then perform in the Spoons Orchestra of Great Britain. Thank you all spoonists you were wonderful once again. Also the rest of the concert in the Town Hall Saturday night, the impromptu busk outside the Arts centre on Sunday afternoon in the sunshine with Keith Donnelly and Co, and the Mellstock band in the Theatre. Thanks lots Derek and Mary. XX

It was great, the 'orchestra' were fantastic Patti and entertaining and informative concert spot from Tom Lewis too.

A thoroughly enjoyable weekend with lots of singing at the Golf club and the Mill, my thanks also to Derek and Mary. Highlight as expected was Bob Fox and Stu Luckley, still as brilliant as they ever were.   The singaround at the Reindeer on Saturday night was a belter, I'm just sorry I couldn't have got there earlier.

I'm just hoping now that my work rota works out for next year.
