Very long shot this - I'll be in Kintail area (Shiel Bridge/Morvich) for a few days next week...
Anyone know of any sings/mixed singing & music sessions within reasonable distance during that week (6th to 12th Sept.)? (Spans A85 Cluanie Inn to Skye Bridge or just beyond, I'd guess)

Try Shielbridge Hotel and I believe there are sessions at Dornie. Sorry I do not know the days these are on.

Also check Plockton Inn for Thursday nights. I went a few years back and it was not the most welcoming of atmospheres. This may have changed.

Have followed all above options, but drawn a blank so far.
Apparently the Plockton session is still going, but strictly musicians only.
There isn't a Shielbridge Hotel, only the Kintail Lodge, and they don't have any music.
Thanks to all for their help anyway.

One day to go, so if anyone else has any late brainwaves please post.

Still, it'll be good to be back in that beautiful area again.

Sorry mate, I've drawn a blank too. There's a session at the Achness Hotel in Rosehall on a Wednesday night, but that's a long way from Shiel Bridge.
I'm afraid that folk music sessions are rarer than hen's teeth in the highlands, especially after the tourists head for home.

Can't remember the name of the poub but went to a really good live music session in Invergarry about 3 weeks ago and these seem to be a regular event. Invergarry is really small place and they were advertising the session on a board outside the pub so if you're near there you will find it easily.

Kintail Lodge on a Thursday evening - a pile of fiddlers from Skye were playing last time I was in there.

Good bunkhouse accommodation is available at Kintail Lodge. Beer is excellent and evening meals are very good but I wouldn't bother with their breakfasts.
