Subject: Lyr Req: Rounds From: Tootler Date: 10 Sep 08 - 06:47 PM I run a small folk music group as part of my local U3A. Some of the members have asked for some rounds. I don't know a lot of rounds apart from the ones everyone seems to learn at school (London's burning, Frere Jacques etc.) I would love some suggestions of good rounds for a bunch of 50+ adults - words and tune if possible please. (Just to avoid confusion, group = interest group not band.) Thanks in advance. Geoff |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rounds From: Peter the Squeezer Date: 10 Sep 08 - 07:47 PM I sat next to the Duchess at tea. It was just as I thought it would be. Her rumblings abdominal were simply phenominal, And everyone thought it was me! Will try to ABC the tune asap Peter |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rounds From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 10 Sep 08 - 07:55 PM Put rounds in the search box at upper right and you will get a list of linked threads- lots of them posted here. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rounds From: Joe_F Date: 10 Sep 08 - 08:09 PM The Penguin Book of Rounds (1982) contains 166 of them. There is also Round the World of Sound (25 rounds) by Moondog (Louis Hardin), but they are rather challenging. Rise Up Singing has a section of them (37, all fairly easy). |
