Last Friday, my wife and I went to the Palms Playhouse in Winters, California, for a CD release concert - Holdstock & MacLeod's Deepwater Return. I guess you could call this a sequel to their 2001 Deepwater Songs and 1997 Deepwater Shanties CDs. Together, the three recordings are some of the best sea music you'll hear in Northern California. Well, maybe not - Peter Kasin and Richard Adrianowicz and Riggy Rackin provide stiff competition. The album links I've posted will lead you to CDBaby, which provides generous recording samples from the three CDs.
By the way, Mudcatters Chanteyranger and Radriano and Riggy are in the chorus for a number of the Holdstock & MacLeod recordings.

The CD release concert was the first time I've had to pay to hear Holdstock and MacLeod, since usually I sing with them in more informal settings. It was great to hear them in concert, and the sound system brought out what an absolutely beautiful voice Allan MacLeod has. Both men are wonderful singers - and wonderful people, too. I'm proud to know them.
