Owing to the overwhelming success of the the third Monday sess in the "Wellington" Russell Street Hull we are delighted to announce that there will be a Sunday afternoon session starting the first Sunday in October.This will be on a once a month basis only.

Like the Monday sessions this will NOT be a singaround with one person running it.All are welcome, singers, musos, poets, monologuers, chorus singers and listeners

This is a collective with all giving respect and encouragement to others.This is all we ask of people who attend.

The pub has great accouistic and layout so for those who want to listen and/or talk there is plenty room for them.

The "Wellington" is situated very near Beverley road very central for buses and for drivers there is a massive car park.

Massive range of real ales and continental bottled beer.

We used to live walking distance from here. Wish this had been going on then.
The first Sunday ties in well with the first Monday (tunes) session in the Black Boy for anyone that visits Hull for this and can stay an extra night.

Of interest to anyone in Hull and Beverley area tomorrow!

Mick McGoldrick is on at Hessle Town Hall, South Lane, Hessle, HU13 0RR!! It's tomorrow (Tuesday 30th September) and there are tickets left so you can pay on the door. It's £12.50, doors open at 7.00, music starts 7.30 and Mick McGoldrick is on at 8.00.

Mick McGoldrick was what we most wanted to see at the Beverley Festival in June, but unfortunately we didn't get to see him.

I'm really looking forward to this, it will be an excellent concert.

It were great. Quite a 'wall of sound' at one point with seemingly more harmonies than there were people there! I've mentioned before about the wide range of beverages available, but for drivers and 'folk on pills' they also have the best soft drinks around as well. We're being spoilt, aren't we?

The next Sunday afternoon session will be a Monday afternoon session! As it's a Bank Holiday, and there's an excellent festival on (Moor and Coast, Whitby) we will be in the Wellington on the Bank Holiday Monday. Richard (the landlord) is looking into opening up at 3pm on that day (it's normally 4pm) but we will confirm the actual time later.

Thanks to all who came to the April session - we were certainly able to keep up the high quality we have come to expect at this session.

Talked to the venerable Sir jOhn in't Walton street market a minute or fifty ago and he was a little confused by Mr.Fromulls message.

To set the record straight: the next Sunday session will be the May bank holiday; not this week, the Easter Bank Holiday.

As a lot of us will be at Moor and Coast Festival and not returning untill the Monday,it will be on the Monday which is the 4th (forth) of May.

Just to say that I've had a word with Dean in the George about that particular Monday (the 4th of May) to say that the Black Boy may be under-used that night and not to go mad with the grub. And he gave me another Woods (ha ha, that'll teach you to go sliding off early!)

Any road, it's nice to hear that the horse-posteriored one had a bit of con-fuse-ion on. It'll get him back for all that he has said and done on Mudcat for years. People here think that us 'fromulls' are a bit short-handed in the head department, which, as you know, is so very far from the truth.

Just to confirm that the forthcoming Sunday session at the Wellington will take place on Monday instead. A few of us will be at Moor and Coast festival, and so Monday seemed a better bet. Not to say that you won't be able to go in and sing and play on Sunday, but that some of the regulars won't be there.

The Monday session will start at 3pm, and the Wellington will be open early to allow this (as confirmed with the management today). I understand that we will have a dance team as well!
