Experienced a Dan McKinnon gig last at Four Fools Folk Club here in Lancashire UK. What a wonderful guy, with brilliant songs telling great stories. Is he a one off, are they all like that from Nova Scotia.

On a more serious note, there are some excellent performers in the Maritimes and in other Provinces. Dan reminds me so much like Stan Rogers.

What an astounding talent. And he does, indeed, remind one of Stan in so many ways. One of my favorite artists.

Not all the same as Dan as he's really special and excellent. Many can write the songs, but few can combine the writing, the singing, the personal touch and the audience approach that he has in spades.

Dan used to play every Sat. morn at the farmers market in Halifax(NS). The acoustics in the old brewery market were excellent. Glad to see he's getting to a wider audience.

I have had a chance to listen now to two of Dan's CD's and find them so Stan Rogers as to be uncanny. He has a lovely mellow voice and such great songs. There seems some gene connection in their voices and well worth listening to. I have no preference they are both THAT good. I will never be able to see Stan Rogers, though his Son is a possibility next year, but hope to be able to see/hear Dan some time.

Had the pleasure of hearing and meeting him last night when he came for a sing in Flaxton. My wife has gone off with a a bunch of friends to hear him again tonight but I have just got back from the South and probably won't now get there :(

We booked him to headline our mini Festival at the
www.opendoorfolkclub.co.uk based on hearing his cd.
After what you guys have said, I'm more enthused than ever,
It's on 12th October and we're near Oldham, but not too far
from Manchester.
