I emailed Jim McDonald a few days ago and everything is going ahead

I mentioned publicity and its on its way!

Based on Burton Street, nearer Hillsbrough tho' me and Judy Knight will be at the usual town pubs Friday and Saturday

Facilities are I believe very good for indoor camping etc

let you know when I do!!

Ray

I too await detailed information from Jim. It would be particularly useful for me, as I run the website. I don't think he entirely understands the importance of a web presence. Neither, it seems, does Burton Street, though their physical facilities are very good. They have webspace, but still haven't put anything there; which is why the link to it isn't terribly useful at the moment.

at least its going ahead!! any idea of ticket price or a vague programe?? It seems odd that in previous years the website has been extremely usefull and has given all details needed!! I would have thought/hoped that in this day and age it would be the near the top of any festivals priority list

There will be a ceilidh with Cadellin and John Brown on the Saturday evening, 7-10.30. I've also heard rumours of a contra dance on the Friday evening and some French/Euro dance on Saturday afternoon, but I'm not involved with those so can't confirm for definite.

Burton Street has quite a few halls so I imagine the indoor camping will be in one or two of these.

Much of this is news to me. I can confirm, though, that indoor camping will be at Burton Street. I'm told that it will cost £10 per person per night, including 'full English breakfast at the onsite café'.

Anyone struggling with locations should look at the venues page, which has links to streetmaps. Note that online maps, and likely most satnav systems, have not been updated since the opening of the final part of the inner ringroad.

Also added are basic details of the ceilidhs, which I got from a source other than the festival organisers. Still to come are ticket prices and times for some events, plus details of workshops and dance displays.

Help!! The website now says that the Michael Marra concert is in the afternoon (that's under programme). At the same time it still says that it is at night (under concerts). Are there two? Will there be anybody there at the right time? Does anybody know the answer? Michael Marra's site actually says 8 AM which I somehow doubt!
We are beginning to think it's all too hard!

Going to Derby Folk Festival this weekend which must be easier.

Talking to folk in Sheffield on Saturday night it looks as though it's going to be a great weekend. Have to see if me and Badger can make it over for some of it.

The indoor camping comes with a **** rating - Showers!!! Full English!!! Hot Water!!! - what more can any festival goer want (and only £10 a night)

A dietician went through all the tick-boxes to get me to give up food......Bacon sandwiches? No; Mid morning snack? never: Lunch? Salad; Afternoon cake? Never; Evening meal? something light; Supper? not much.

Scratching her head she looked puzzled and almost in desperation - Drink?

You've got me there I had to admit.

Have a good 'un everyone - we have non folky friends staying that weekend so can't make it.

Watch out for details of the Queensbury (nr Bradford)Folk Day in March - coming soon! I think we have pulled together a fantastic line up at really short notice - including some top quality artists from the South Yorkshire area - but I would say that wouldn't I!
