ARRGGHHH! The Knockholt mocks me. Actually the dates do. We can't camp and can't do weekdays, but may toddle in for a few hours on one of the weekend days. Weather permitting (snerk).

For anyone who visits this thread. It's off topic but... Trevor suffered a bad heart attack on Monday. Swift action at Kings has got him back almost to normal but he has to give up the fags and no driving for a month.

Excellent this thread is up and running I have booked the dates off this evening so I have peace of mind I will be there.

                Has I was going over,
                Those wild Knockholt mountains,
                I first met Captain Woodsie
                Drinking pints of Larkens.

                I first produced a cigarette,
And I then produced me Rizla
I said sit down on that tree stump man,
                and I,ll make us both a R...a.

Witha Oh whata parlarva ana da
                Knock down that Larkens man
                Knock down that Larkens man
                There,s Kronenburg on the Bar

We were in the Tally Ho,
             The landladies name was Jenny.
             I ordered another two Kronenburgs,
And went to spend a penny

             Jenny was a blondie
who came from Mevergissey.(Thats in Cornwall)
She said do you wanna come upstairs,
             And see me Cornish Kitty

Witha Oh whata Parlarva ana Da
             Knock down that Kronenburg.
             Knock down that Kronenburg.
There,s a Whiskey on the bar

Naughtyforty, we didn't have a choice it's always the closest weekend to the 21st (remember??), we only get to choose when that falls on a Wednesday. Anyway you've got me worried now because Louis makes his first communion next year too, but I suppose we could always rush back to Eltham for a few hours and stink the church out with the smell of camp fires it will make a nice change from incense. By the way are you still staying at ours on December 5th (Folkmob party).

Number 4 scary? A woman in a woolly catsuit scary? I think it is quite funny, because it plays on the whole men attracted to sheep thing.

IMHO inflatable sex is scary.

"Warning: Do not display this sheep in the vicinity of curmudgeons, recent heart patients or knockholt attendees. May cause disruption in breathing.

Actually this may be true for links 3 and 4. Oh hell pick a link.
Which one does it for you guys?

Nows your chance to vote.

I am sure there must be a Druid festival that clashes with the church at that time of the year,
or did the church clash with the Druids,,,,mmmmm...
Anyway during these dark dismal days of winter we can participate in exuberant fantasies of the coming 2009 Knockholt season.
However I do warn you all, no two Knockholt camps have every been the same, The unknown factor adds to the excitement, especially when Pete The Hat starts his song writing this early.

I think it is quite funny, because it plays on the whole men attracted to sheep thing.

I meant to say after the line above ... "if you can't get his attention as a mere woman" try wearing this woolly jumper"

That's what I get for trying to do this in dark bedroom on tiny little eeepc keyboard.

Its about the size of a Marble?
You put it in your shoe it makes you limp,
There,s a new one for women too.it weighs 500 weight they put by the bedroom door and no sod can get in.

No, a woolly jumper is a cross between a sheep and a kangaroo - maybe the kangaroo came to Knockholt...

I assumed there were one of two good reasons: -

A) Migraine but unable to resist Mudcat; or
B) Other half asleep and likely to fret if you left the bed.

Near enuff. Lifetime insomniac with head cold from hell. Surfing Mudcat, You Tube, Wikapedia, Cantaria and in general being front pew member of the First Church of Google. And doing some WORK work .... Parish Register handlists... Yawn.

Other half (had cold first) can sleep through my very audible symptoms, but will come looking if gone too long. It is a hangover from Andie's passing. He checks to see that I am OK.

Been up since 3:40 am, now 8:30 am. Think I will risk some cold meds and sleep when he is awake and can make emergency call if I have a reaction.

I still don't get the kangaroo thing?

And still mulling over ways to make next year's Knockholts. I may save up so we can hire a camper van just for the Friday evening thru Sunday bit. 2010, we will have newer car and caravan. Yippeee!

If I have not got rid of my little old van, and if my noisy daughter does not do princess bit and insist that she will NOT go under canvas, you can borrow that - but I think you have no towbar.

However, the likelihood is that daughter will if coming do the princess bit.

The joke is simple. What do you get if you cross a kangaroo with a sheep? A woolly jumper!

I get the joke. I just don't undestand what a kangaroo has to do with Knockholt. Think I am trying to read too much into it. Need more meds and sleep, not sheep.

Thanks for the offer of van. But as you said, we have no towbar and we can't make it until Friday evening anyway due to Chris' teaching.

If there is a way I will find it.

No, the sheep are the connection to Knockholt, which is why the kangaroo had to go there to get you a woolly jumper...

Actually that sounds quite good. Salvador Dali cocktail

4 cl Xellent Swiss Vodka
2 cl Karibso White Peach Liqueur
1.5 cl Cinnamon syrup
1.5 cl fresh lime juice
6 cl Grapefruit juice
6 cl Cranberry juice

I need to learn to drink whiskey.   That we have. Gotta be better than ephedrine laced paracetamol.

Latest on recovering heart patient. I have just scoured the internet for, and printed the leaflet that he imagined he'd brought home from the hospital. He's busy reading it. He's eating less rubbish and more fruit. Sleeping a bit during the day, but going to bed earlier and getting up by 8 am. He musn't go outside in wet and windy weather, so today he's a couch potato refining his aimlessly mooching about indoors skills. Before I saw the dos and dont's I got him to unscrew a jar of pasta sauce. He mustn't do that. He's watching Coronation Street, we haven't watched soaps for about 3 years. Half an hour of Corrie later and he's looking for something else to do. Time for tea.

If you cant sleep try counting sheep.

I have got a boxful of Display Rockets(Standard Fireworks) left over from me brothers firework party. I will bring them to Knockholt and set them off on the Friday night. I am trying to rig up a launching contraption whereby they will all go up together. I have got 7 4ft lenths of copper pipe so far.

I more sort of had "PIGS IN SPACE" from the Muppets in mind... not Lamb Chop.

Pigs In Space!!!! Woot for Link Hogthrob! Loved the Muppet show and most famous curmudgeons Statler and Waldorf. Favourite character Swedish Chef (didn't google once have a Swedish chef translator).

Don't remember much about Laugh In except being yelled at for sneaking down to basement (family room) when I was supposed to be in bed, to watch it. I remember the characters but not the actual jokes. Judy Carne, Goldie Hawn, Artie Johnson, Joanne Worley, Ruth Buzzy, Henry Gibson, Gary Owen and of course Rowan and Martin, there was big goofy blonde guy too. Remember Fickle Finger of Fate and I had a button/badge that said "You bet your sweet bippie" which I had to hide from my Dad. Not appropriate for a 9 to 10 year old to be sporting.

Ahhh memories.

Of course it was Muppets not Laugh In.... but in Laugh In I remember the running jokes like the German soldier hiding behind an aspidestra "Very Interesting....but stupid"... after a sketch or a joke. Goldie Hawn either was very young or she had loads of facelifts through her film career, or , most likely, both. I was around 16 and able to watch with my parents. We all loved it ! Never worked out what a bippie actually was! There was another Pig Soap in the Muppets, a hospital drama.

I have heard sheep stuffed with ferrets is quite nice, but not sure where to put the rockets. I suppose kangaroos could have been sheep with rockets attached. I will have to consult my Darwins Theory Manual. Laughing is part of the Knockholt code so every body should practice before they come ( you also do not need words or an instrument to perform)

No wonder your strings were breaking! The tuning should be G D A E from thick to thin. So, tune the bottom (thickest) string to G then play it on 7th fret and tune the next string to that and so on ...
