I'm looking for a string player who'd like to collaborate/experiment/improvise with me on material comprising mainly traditional English/Irish/Scottish folksongs, plus the occasional composition. Mostly I sing acapella, and wanting to try something different and interesting.

(Sorry, this isn't paid!)

Lizzie Prendergast from BlueHorses may be on the loose at the moment - lives in Wales.

Prepare to be shocked by her tastes!

Thanks Richard - I may contact her, but I imagine my stuff will be too tame for her! it's on the slow haunting side - she seems like a bit of a rocker......unless you know different?

Sue
Did you get sorted? May be worth contacting Trevor ("Lazyhound") on TheSession. Trevor is in Bristol, plays classical cello and plays fiddle! So 3/3!

You could ask Nick Woodward of the Bristol Violin shop (12 Upper Maudlin St, 0117 - 925 9990). Nick's a fine cellist (I'm pretty sure violinist too), a keen folk enthusiast, and all-round v. nice guy.

Is this the Nick Woodward who made fiddles when I worked (with his wife, Terry) in Bristol?

Kitty

Sessioneer - mailed!

Jeff - many thanks - in fact last week I put an ad up in that shop! (though didn't see him, spoke to a woman) so I guess he'd reply to me if interested...but perhaps I should give him a bell.

Suegorgeous : I would. I e-mailed him and he sounded interested when he replied, though of course the shop must take a lot of his energy. Look forward to hearing you some time.

HK : I would put good money on it being him. His shop has a contact tab so why not send him a hello e-mail.

Jeff - thanks for that - just had a very interesting phone conversation with him, and something may come out of it I think. :)
