Not folk but for a name contender "Bach in the Bight" by StringyBach has to be up there.

For non-Aussies I'll just point out that there is a tree called stringybark, and the large body of water to the south of the continent is The Great Australian Bight. One of the tracks on the CD is "The Barque in the Bight".

I don't know if it ever was made into a CD but Mudcat's Bill in Alabama had a cassette some years ago with his family band called "You Must Be Present to Attend". The title caught my eye but I literally wore out the tape because I liked the music.

I like Art's and the Pogues' titles, but I'm also partial to one by Gregg Keeler called Songs of Fishing, Sheep, and Guns in Montana. That covers about everything in the state.

I always liked Pat Sky's "Harvest of Gentle Clang."

BTW, if anyone can tell me a legitimate source for a CD copy of this album, pm me. All I can find are black market CR-R copies made from the oricinal vinyl. Even Pat Sky doesn't know of a legitimate re-release source since he (as of a couple of years ago) hasn't authorized any re-releases.

A member of which, Rod Stradling, had a solo album called "Rhythms Of The Wold" (he's from Stroud in the Cotswolds). And their label, Rogue Records, apparently put out a pair of West African compilations, one called "Jali House Rock" and the other "There's A Griot Going On" (I read all this in a letter in The Word recently, so I hope it's true!)

Apparently (according to Kathryn Tickell) the Northumbrian shepherds Joe Hutton (Northumbrian pipes), Willie Taylor (fiddle) and Will Atkinson (mouth organ) wanted to call their album Joe and his Two Willies. (This may not carry the same connotations for American English-speakers.)

Anyway, the record company baulked at it, and it ended up being called Harthope Burn, after a local beauty spot.
