The person Pete mentioned at that concert was Alice K. Pollitzer. I think he called her by her nickname "Nanny". She is my childrens' great-great grandmother.

I was playing this on my MP3 player in the car yesterday. Its a great listen. He also credited the pigeons for their singing. I think the name given above sounds right. I never tire of listening to it

It does sound like Aunt Alice Pollitzer, and looking around the web, I see several associations connecting her with the Encampment for Citizenship. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like "Aunt Ollis Politzer," or "Anne Ollis Politzer." I googled those two names. Seems like "Politzer" is relatively common, not "Politser." "Ollis" is found occasionally, but not with "Politzer" - but it sure ain't Aunt Molly Jackson, who wrote songs about mine workers.
Aunt Molly Jackson spent her last years in the Oak Park area of Sacramento, the area where I do volunteer work at a women's center. Pete did a concert for the Sacramento Folk Music Club, and my friend Mrs. Lev delivered Pete to Aunt Molly Jackson's house - it may have been their final visit. Wikipedia says Aunt Molly Jackson died in 1960, but I thought it was later than that.

also on CD - c.1989, CBS Records. containing previously released 7 unreleased material.

my booklet has notes by Leslie Berman made in 1989 when the concert was issued as a CD. He says Pete stopped to dedicate the song to an old family friend, Aunt Alice Pollitzer. I'm currently listening to the track & can hear her name cos I just read it.

It also includes the original notes listing everyone who has influenced him, including song collectors whose books he has poured over. The notes include mention of his forthcoming 12 month world trip.

We (Bush Music club) have pictures of his visit to the club & I'll have to start bothering Bob Bolton & our webmaster to get them up on the website sometime soon in our newly (slowly) expanding history section.

It's from the CBS LP #BPG 62209, recorded live at Carnegie Hall on June 8th 1963.
Credited in the sleeve notes is an Aunt Molly Jackson, and I think that's the person he mentions This was the first LP record I ever bought, and I haven't played it for a long time.

I have a performance of Pete Seeger singing We Shall Overcome where he starts talking in between one of the verses and says 0

Does anyone know the name of the person he acknowledged? I can't really make it out.

In introducing the song, Pete suggests people going down to Birmingham, Mississippi or Alabama, which would make me thing that this performance was between 1963 and 1965.
