Subject: RE: Inishowen Folksong & Ballad Seminar From: MartinRyan Date: 24 Mar 09 - 08:04 AM Just back from a wonderful weekend of sessions, talks, concert - and, Oh Yeah - a rugby match squeezed in there somehow! Lots of new singers and older songs since I was last there, about 5 years ago. About 150 participants from a wide range of traditions ensured a fantastic range of songs in a relaxed atmosphere with a minimum of formal push-and-shove; large sessions spawning smaller, more intimate sessions; fresh air by the bucketful in the beautiful Donegal landscape. If your main interest is in unaccompanied singing, then you really should get to this festival at least once. Regards p.s. a few Mudcatters in attendance, as ever. |
