The antidote to those New Year hangovers... morris & a session :)

Motley Morris will be dancing from 1pm at the Malt Shovel Dartford, Kent, with guests... Some of the invited guests declined, expecting hangovers. We will undoubtedly have hangovers too but what better way to shake them off...To our knowledge Invicta and Gong Scourers are definites. Any other sides wishing to dance can e-mail [e-mail]

Bear in mind that it's within easy walking distance of Dartford Station and FastTrack from Bluewater (not sure how relevant that is or whether they actually run on NYD ?)

For Kent Korkers, Pork Scratchin's & Motley it's their after practice pub. Neil is a gem amongst Landlords. He loves the music and dance and has been "end man" on a Scratchin's dance.

They have a big Conservatory which is fab for sessions.

Totally agree about the latest incumbent Neil. He is a great bloke and appears to want to keep the unique (in Dartford) atmosphere of a two bar pub going. A great pity that the previous occupant ripped out and sold the furnishings from the Tap Room.

We normally go to Stanstead Abbots, but with Mumblin' Len not being able to drive that far at present, this may be an alternative. TDL haven't sung, since his heart attack, but expect to do a floor spot soon at Dartford Folk Club. Could be a chance for some practice. Know Dartfoird, but can't place the pub. What road's it in ?
