Subject: Tell your Pickering FF stories here From: GUEST,KarenL Date: 06 Jan 09 - 07:25 AM My story is that I have lost £120 to this company when they promised to refund it. I have sent several letters, emails and phone calls. none of these get answered. Consumer Direct say each person would have to take legal actionagainst the owner of the company, but we may not succeed. It is total injustice. Please add your stories to this thread. |

Subject: RE: Tell your Pickering FF stories here From: GUEST,michelle m Date: 10 Jan 09 - 08:56 AM Hi, I bought 2 tickets and am out of pocket to the tune of £75. Not as much as some unfortunate people, but enough to make a difference, especially at this time where finances are tight. I have endeavoured to contact the Events Office a number of times, as have others, to no avail. There is obviously no intent to repay customers or suppliers and acts. This is robbery, plain and simple. |
Subject: RE: Tell your Pickering FF stories here From: weller Date: 20 Jan 09 - 12:08 PM This guy did some initial work on our behalf (journo - David Jeffells on Mobile 07870 274680 or Home 01723 863395). I have had cause to email watchdog about something else recently. Although slow, they did come back to me wanting to investigate. Simply email watchdog@bbc.co.uk make it concise and with a decent subject heading. Mention bands like The Waterboys were probably ripped off too - might get a bit more exposure. For my sins, I've been done for 2 tickets totalling £50. Trading standards/Police are a joke if they can't even provide something that's a little more than nothing! |
Subject: RE: Tell your Pickering FF stories here From: GUEST,Sarah Derry Date: 21 Jan 09 - 09:24 AM Hi, they owe me £130 and like the rest of you I rang every 3 weeks or so since September 2008 to be assured it was coming very soon/had to wait for money from property sale/someone who was dealing with it was off sick/it would 100% be with me by Christmas etc etc. Yes, I can see I was a right gullible fool now!! Have got the letter from them to state they are being taken over and to send off for freebie 2009 tickets (have done so but I know it is most probably in vain and not sure would go anyhow other than to grab hold of any ex Events Office staff lurking about and ask them to explain their actions). Am in process of trying to get a refund from visa but they are not making it easy so far! I did email watchdog a while ago now but never had a reply. This has put me off all future events and will pay on day for every event 2009 as I cannot afford to chuck this amount of money away (£130 may not be much but in my case is 1% of our family earnings).
