Subject: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine From: SINSULL Date: 09 Feb 09 - 08:39 AM Heads up guys. On Saturday, April 4, Chance and Suzette will be in Maine for a Song Circle and maybe to sell a few CDs. Mark your calendars. This will be fun. SINS |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine From: Fortunato Date: 09 Feb 09 - 08:56 AM Dear, Miss Sinsull, Most kind and yet courteous of you to let us come to your house and sing some songs. We're hoping to see Miss Jacqui and Master Finn and all the the northern 'cats in their native environs. Tell Captain Morse, to please speak to the those Maine weather frogs about whistling up some southern breezes. Ya'll know I'm a delicate sort and rarely transverse the Mason-Dixon Line. We're also visiting Tom and Johanna Bazzolo of Bazzolo Guitars up in Sullivan, Maine, which is apparently dangerously close to a foreign country, but terribly beautiful classical and steel string fingerstyle guitars are built there. Can't wait to sing a song with folks. chance |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine From: jacqui.c Date: 09 Feb 09 - 09:02 AM We shall, hopefully, be back from our jaunt to the south by that date. Don't want to miss this one! |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine From: kendall Date: 09 Feb 09 - 09:13 AM Hey old buddy, if you want, you may borrow instruments to play here. It would save you lugging them along on your trip. What would you need besides a Didgeridoo, an alto Bodhran and a nose flute? |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine From: Barry Finn Date: 09 Feb 09 - 09:25 AM Are you sure you & Suzette want to brave the cold Maine wilderness? The cold won't be so bad but those folks "Up East" are very funny talkers and are a bit of a mouthful if not bridled after being coop up for the winter, they run in very fast circles, enough to make you dizzy. BUT, if you guys can brave them so can I, it'll be a joy & a pleasure to join them in having you in our mists (we try not to do 'Fog'). Looking forward to seeing & sining with you guys again Barry |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine From: SINSULL Date: 09 Feb 09 - 09:46 AM "sining" Is that anything like co-signing or tangentsentual meditaion? I ain't co-signing anything! SINS |

Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: Fortunato Date: 09 Feb 09 - 12:40 PM Captain Kendall, That's very kind of you to extend that offer of your private instrument collection, if I could just borrow a guitar that would be lovely. I'll speak to Miss Susette about her instrument needs and get back to you. She'll likely want her Autoharp which is easy to travel with, and might be grateful for the loan of a banjo. Dear Master Finn, You remind me of the old gospel song: "Broadminded is spelled S-I-N in the Bible". all the best chance |

Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: Fortunato Date: 11 Feb 09 - 09:39 AM Thank you most kindly MS Goddess, Susette and I are not well acquainted with New Hapshuhites, do you and Cap'n Finn represent typical examples of the species? Be that is it may, we are honored that you will traverse the muddy miles to share some songs with us. Looking forward to it. chance |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: Fortunato Date: 21 Feb 09 - 07:04 PM See here, Miss Sinsull, , Squire Finn, Jacqui and Cap'n Morse, I have just read the weather report for Portland, ME and they are calling for COLD WEATHER AND SNOW. Ya'll got to get the Mojo working up there, before Susette (the flower of South Carolina) and I come up that way next month. Either that or the Cap'n is going to have loan me one of his more presentable union suits. Think "Southern Nights" (can't your hear Glen Campbell singing in the background?" chance |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: SINSULL Date: 21 Feb 09 - 10:38 PM For the record: Captain Morse once ran for office on the Republican ticket. Not sure how he managed to preserve his sense of humor or self-respect but... LOL |

Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: jacqui.c Date: 22 Feb 09 - 09:24 AM Chance - the warmth of the welcome you will get will far outweigh any vagaries of the weather. We have over a month before you set foot in this wonderful land and I'm sure that the weather will have improved by then - we'll be down to ten foot snowdrifts, anyway! |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: Fortunato Date: 22 Feb 09 - 12:16 PM Dear, Miss jacqui, I feel warmer already, I do hope you good folks don't freeze off in pertinent parts. cheers and all the best |

Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: CamiSu Date: 27 Feb 09 - 01:51 PM The boys are 18, and my own son is 16 (and a solid folk fan). So for that matter is Sinan (from Turkey) Fabio does love his Fado. Mary, probably not sooner. I am running crazy with "Grease!" this weekend (both boys in and I did the sets) and perhaps a bit of Sanity after. I do have to get a sub for church on those days I com over. (and I may have to head for Freeport for a half day to maintain the relationship with my brother!) CamiSu |

Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: Fortunato Date: 13 Mar 09 - 05:08 PM Well, boy and girls, Mr Chance and the lovely Miss Susette are starting to think about traveling up north to the wilds of Maine here in a few weeks. But, first we're going to go see Doc Watson on Tuesday night. Then we're off to Hanlon Mt in NC on Friday for a week. We're going to a jam session with some Trad Bluegrass folks on Saturday down in Asheville. But then we'll turn our faces to the frozen north. |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: SINSULL Date: 14 Mar 09 - 10:03 AM I wish I could tell you that we are thawing but... It does go into the 40s during the day which means the snow melts. Then it goes into the teens at night leaving a sheet of melted snow ice behind. There are some brave little daffodils poking through the mess so there is hope. See you soon and I will have Kendall email directions. I'll send you to Canada. Mary |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: Fortunato Date: 14 Mar 09 - 03:07 PM Then I shall not hear the phrase "the Calla Lilys are in bloom again!" fall from your lips...nor expect soft southern breezes, sounds like Carhartt watch cap and wool socks, got 'em. I have my passport and Canada doesn't scare me; I've had Edmund's coffee and enjoyed same, however, in the interest of efficiency I'll be honored to accept direction from a gentleman of Kendall's caliber. |
Subject: RE: SONG CIRCLE with the SHIVERS in Maine 4-4-09 From: Fortunato Date: 22 Mar 09 - 06:34 PM Friends, Susette and I have had to postpone our plans to travel to Maine and visit our friends in Portland and Sullivan. Work conflicts with my personal life again... But fear not, we shall go Maine and see Ms Sinsull and Jacque and Mr.Kendall and Barry and Ranger One and all the fine folks. We're looking at July visit and we'll get back to you folks on it soon. cheers chance |
