Brian Peters will be appearing at a house concert at TRUBRIT's on March 27th.

Festivities start at 6.00pm with a pot luck supper and the concert will start at around 7.30. For those who are interested there will be a song circle following the concert.

I think that this has been referenced elsewhere but I thought I would start a new thread just on this topic. Brian Peters is doing a house concert at my house on March 27 which is a Friday. Friday tends not to be such a good day for folks but I am hoping we can give him a good turnout You can check Brian out at www.brian-peters.co.uk or www.myspace.com/brianpetersfolks (sorry - don't know how to do blue clickies). If any one is interested in attending and doesn't know my address just PM me. We will start at 6 with a potluck supper. Brian is staying over here but we have one other extra bed and many couches. Friday nights for me is 1st getting my wife in Boston then we usually spend an hour on the road o get to the Press Room. We can't do the drive to Portland on a night after her working all day. And I dearly want to see Brain. I have high hopes of catching him, hopefulll in Boston.
Actually I should do a Brian Peters "Boston" thread, he's not nearly exposed enough here on the 'Cat' :)

Sorry to leave the books in your way after you were kind enough to pick them up for me, Sins. I just can't manage driving yet. You could always sling 'em into the shed if they're still well-bagged.

Happy Spring- I have a couple of songs I need to try out too ('Redwing' and 'Roses & Amber'), so I'm hoping a chord of friends here will take the plunge and give me a lift- if they can drive these bumpity roads without jarring the blue-cast arm.

I have two friends, who drove from Orangeville to a house concert in Rochester last Sunday.
They said Brian was AMAZING, BRILLIANT, ETC, ETC. There again he always is.
There were only about a dozen people there though.
SO! get your backsides moving and get out there to see this AMAZING, BRILLIANT, performer. Otherwise he will not have enough money for his bus fare home and will have to stay on this side of the ocean.

What a great evening! I knew that Brian's would be a good performance, but he made the evening magic.

He has a great sense of humour and a real ability to connect with his audience. That's on top of his obvious deep knowledge of the genre and superb musical skills. We had one lady who had attended three of his concerts (so far) on this trip and, by the end of the evening it was obvious why.

Hopefully, next time he visits the colonies, we can persuade him back up to Maine again. I hope so.

Brian performed numerous Child Ballads but always a variation that none of us had heard before. He throughly enjoyed performing and his audience. He loves and knows his material.
I requested and got Banks of the Green Willow. But he has to come back - he owes us "Her Bright Smile Haunts Me Still".
Now can someone explain who Ruth is? I thought she was Brian's wife. I also thought it strange that she laughed at his jokes louder than anyone - I mean his wife - how many times had she heard them before? Then she up and left early. I really have to arrive on time to be in the loop next time.
A wonderful evening. Tom of course came through with flying colors and lots of first rate comfort food. Real Shepherd's Pie.

Ruth is a charming music lover with a great sense of humor. She heard about Brian's concert at TRUBRIT's via another email list (I don't remember for sure; maybe Brian's own.) I think I have it straight! She had planned to catch the first half of Brian's concert and the second part of the concert at 1 Longfellow Square in Portland, but had such a good time she stayed for Brian's whole show.

All three newcomers were pleasant additions to the group gathered Friday night. I hope we see them again. Efficient TRUBRIT got their contact details.

Thanks for your kind mention, SINSULL. I was sad to miss a song circle, but the fog confirmed my decision to head out when I did.

Brian was a treat as always, and I would have made all six that were in range if I could possibly have done so! Three is not bad, and I thank the Maine-iacs for welcoming me! Next trip (around a year from this) Brian has promised me a house concert too.
