Subject: Lyr Req: Snake Bite Song From: GUEST Date: 04 Apr 09 - 11:17 PM I'm trying to figure out the name of a song from my childhood where a woman was bitten by a snake and the man had to suck the poison out, then the man died from the poison. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Snake Bite Song From: Joe Offer Date: 05 Apr 09 - 12:04 AM Hmmmm. The first snake song I thought of was Springfield Mountain; but in that one, a young man gets bitten by a snake while he's mowing - and that makes me very nervous this time of year, because I have to mow a lot of grass in rattlesnake territory. The next one I think of is Dreadful Snake, but that's a little girl getting snakebit. We have a long thread titled Songs & Rhymes that mention snakes. I didn't read it because the mention of snakes makes me feel creepy. I may have to stay inside for a week to recover from reading these snake threads. -Joe Herpophobe, who lives in snake country but hasn't seen a poison one yet- P.S. My Dad wants me to visit him in Florida, but look at this page about Florida snakes! Oh, and here is a page about sucking snake venom. Don't do it! |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Snake Bite Song From: Peace Date: 05 Apr 09 - 01:20 AM Sucking snake venom from someone can be dangerous. If you have a lesion/bleeding gums, the venom can enter your blood stream and that is a bad thing. Guset: do you have any more info about the song? A line, date/time you heard it, where you heard it, etc? |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Snake Bite Song From: Joe Offer Date: 05 Apr 09 - 01:32 AM There are several versions in this thread. You will note that the poison entered the girlfriend's bloodstream through a rotten tooth. This points out the need for good dental hygiene. My friend Julie the Tooth was visiting today. Her message to all of you is:
