I have just looked up the train journey. Kidbrooke to London Bridge. Change at London Bridge.
London bridge to Cowden Journey time in all 66 minutes. Woodsie said he would take my camping stuff down Thursday so if I get the early train I aim to be on site by 12.00.
Unless of course I get waylaid in some country pub when I get off at Cowden.
John Barden said he would kindly pick me up from Cowden and to ring him when I get there.
Excellent looking forward to it.

Caravan watch - Tried to replace the cold inlet on the Carver Cascade 2 but the old one was brittle and snapped!!!!! Looks like I'll have to get the whole carver unit out, somehow strip out the old plastic before I can get the new one in. So it may be hot water via kettle for the Pigs Ear festival. Good write up in the Maidstone edition of the Kent Messenger I see.

That happens even to professionals with those inlets (with the non-return valve inside). If you can get the snap-on hose connectors off, it is but the work of half an hour to drop the Carver 2 out of the van - outwards, although you will need to clean off all the old sealant and re-seal afterwards. With the Carver out it should not be too hard to get the old valve out - if necessary, careful work with a hand-drill and scriber must succeed, but do not overdo the drilling and make sure that it is straight and central.

I should have fitted the high pressure pump today and tested the water installation, but I have in stead rested after yesterday's imbibitions!

Caravan watch - I've got the hoses off no problem Richard, it's just half the bloody inlet left behind **"@&%"" it!!! Never mind, it's really only a small inconvenience, I just need to manufactore a blank for the hose end for now just in case.

If one doesn't have a non-return inlet valve or an exploding biscuit tin, is one still able to attend this illustrious gathering?

Just an innocent enquiry.......

I have worked all afternoon on making my own Chinese lanterns like the ones we used on the 24th, in Upper Stokeit was very successful. In the experiment I used a bag from a well know Burger Chain some cotton a match box and a Night light, The fist went up in the air but set alight and came crashing down into my lavender bush where a bucket of water at hand put out the offending flames so after a few adjustment to the inner hanger the second was a great success I make some for Pigs Ear.

To Essex Girl and Naughty forty I am working nights until 7am Friday morning and when I am not at work I am at home sleeping during the day so to get my camping gear to
Essex Girls is not possible also Essex Girl works days so I really do not know what to do about getting my camping gear over to Essex Girls?

Ok here is what I am going to do. Due to both work issues above. I am going to half load me camping gear take bare essentials and do the whole thing by train. I have to do some running about Friday morning so once that par-larva is finished I can get underway I hope to be on camp site by latest 1300hrs. Friday.

I have asked Essex Girl to ring me at work tonight (Wed) and I will call her back so maybe something else can be arranged if not do not worry I will get there some point Friday.
Kind Regards Pierre

Thanks to a bit of bodgery with garden hose and jubilee clips the new shower pump works. Too soon to say whether it will be much of an improvement in the wet but on paper the delivery rate is a lot better.

But the non-return valve is still pants and I am going to have to figure out how to get an inline one into the circuit.

Other job before Friday is to check the generator just in case.

Between Friday and Knockers I can rip the shower plumbing apart to put the shower on the other side and install new shower rail and curtains. Big Dick promises me that my awning will be fixed by then too.

So, John, in case it is any use I have a spare water pump.

Right lets see about sleeping arangements for you and little apprentice.
Im bringing a 4 birth which you and little aprentice can sleep in.all to your selfs

If Richard could bring the tent that he has just mended the one with the pole that would not fit I will sleep in that.
Val said that was ok.
The reason for this is simple I usually stay up most of the night but Im in and out of me tent has I require things. Like more beer more Fags More......Dont matter
If little apprentice goes to bed early then she will be woken up by our comings and goings, so I think it would be better for all concerned if I let you have my big tent Parlarva sorted .
I will sleep in Vals Spare tent.. That Richard has in his Garage.
What a Fiasco.

Caravan watch - Richard, the water pump's fine (at the moment) so I can get water up. With a bit of blue tac and a prayer we will have cold water, and just boil what's needed as and when, a sort of shower without the shower head. At least we have a wet room and a 'cludgie' - the most important things for an ageing hippy :-)

Hi Richard.
Thanks for bringing the tents I will put my tent up for naughty forty when I get there straight away and Vals tent when you arrive and have settled. I am leaving Monday when ever it suits me but If you wanna roll off for 1200 hrs noon then tVals tent will be down and packed up awaiting you well before that I always take an alarm clock camping . Thanks again Pete.

Much of the stuff Im bringing in regards to cooking can be dumped in a fin or skip at the end of the event if this is possible or is one expected to take there rubbish with them?

+ does Pig Ear have a Camp fire to sit around on camp site or is there a camp fire range in the pub festival area.
Right see you all tomorrow.

There is no camp fire at Piggy's.

The pub sells nice but quite costly food so you have no chance of using their cooking facilities.

I used to have a chimnea but it got nicked and I have not got a firepit.

I usually roll (or get towed) off Sunday afternoon - working womble on Monday...

No Pierre, that would be Pig's Nose so no danger of quarantine. Good News is that the fields(s)are nice and dry and the grass is cut. It's already bloody warm here and the pub's cellar is full to the brim. The forecast is a good one, there are 5 portaloos, the marquee is up and all isgetting ready. There's lovely then. See you at 12 noon Pierre.
