Anyone have any info Wadebridge 2009 festival? Can`t find any info anywhere.

I tried to find it too a few days ago, they still show 2008. Very impressive!
I tried looking on the folkewskernow site and they offered me a PDF file of over 8Mb . I can't think why it has to be that size, I only use dial-up, I normally have no need to access more quickly and BT don't charge me either. A file this size would take forever to download and I didn't bother. Have they no one who knows how to make it smaller?

You could try and ring Eddie at Hobgoblin in Wadebridge as he has been its saviour the last 2 years.

Did anyone find out what is happening?
I might see Eddie at The Hurlers Friday morning and might be able to find out more.
I had heard that he had retired from Hobgoblin but maybe that is just a rumour spread by his enemies.

I was the only one at the Hurlers Friday morning but it was lovely.

I have been told that Eddie has left/retired from Hobgoblin and the shop is no longer supporting the festival.
It sounds like it has ceased to exist.

Bo, I went up to the Hurlers but stood on the hill behind, near to Houseman's shaft as that way you can see the sun come up as the Hurlers actually line up with midwinter solstice. I was the one in the long blue robe and black cloak. Thought I saw you there but didn't want to interupt if you were going have to have your own ritual.

Hi Cats, I thought I was the only fool there, but wasn't it a lovely morning. I failed to see you through the mist .
I can't understand why the 'ancients' put the circles there when there was no hope of ever seeing the sunrise without removing the hill, Perhaps they never got around to it.

This is the first year I was ever going to get the chance to go to the Cornwall F Fest, I've always been working that weekend, and it seems now that it has sunk without trace. You would have thought someone could have put something on the website.

Panic not !! I was speaking with instrument builder and musician, Kaz Davey, at Padstow 'Obby 'Oss Day, last Friday. He works in the Hobgoblin Shop in Wadebridge and he confirmed that there definitely WILL be a Wadebridge Folk Festival this year.
He mentioned who was organising it, but unfortunately I have forgotten the name apart from registering that it was a name I hadn't heard before, sorry. However, I'm sure that a phone call or an e-mail to Hobgoblin in Wadebridge will elicit the relevant information about whom to contact for further information. Most people that I know were planning to go anyway and have our own informal festival, if there wasn't going to be an official festival, so it's good news that there will be an official festival.

Thank goodness for that. I would hate to have to warn about Shrewsbury. Not the same kind of do at all. And no Hobgoblin up there either. Towersey is a better bet if you are a dancer but Wadebridge is such a nice town..........

The reason the PDF file is so large is that the paper is just scanned to a PDF and uploaded to a website. It is done voluntary and I pay for the hosting of the site. Sadly I don't have the time to spend making it more user friendly.I only do this to make it available to those who want to see a copy and are unable to obtain a paper version.
If using the site is a problem Chris Ridley is happy to post a copy anywhere for a small donation.

There is nothing in the current FolkNews Kernow about Wadebridge but the latest I have heard is that it is being supported and organised by the town council.
