I'm just back from the launch weekend and very pleased to announce that a brand new, expansive website is now online from TAUNY celebrating traditional music and music-making in the Adirondack region of New York State.

Songs from the lumberwoods, dance tunes from northern NY fiddlers, ballad singers and more, along with streaming audio concert features, downloadable sheet music, an entire section for educators, features on song collecting in the region, indigenous and ethnic musical traditions and much more.

It's a wonderful Website, Dave. On May 20, I found a post from Lynn Koch that gave me enough in this thread to lead me to the Website then, and I had a great time exploring it. Please don't give her a hard time for spilling the beans.

-Joe-

Hi All,

Dave did a great job on this - over several years. It really shows, and is a great resource.
(for what it's worth, Lynn is a he...)

Dave, thanks for doing so much to further awareness of Adirondack music.

best, Pamela

Thanks everyone - - glad to hear it is of some interest and use. Be sure to let us know what works/doesn't work, what is most useful and what you'd like to see more of. The site will be augmented with additional material (including, hopefully, a recording of the launch concert from last weekend which was pretty special) as time goes on.

Just a quick look, so far (listening to Yankee John Galusha as I write), but it's obviously a really good piece of work. Very well done, Dave.
