I have a new 'toy' which as well as being a music player, picks up wi-fi and then you can use the internet. Haven't used it yet because when we stayed in the Travel Inn at Chippenham I found they wanted £12 a day for the privilege. I'm particularly keen to know if anyone has found any in Sidmouth as when we go there for a week, I really hate being cut off from my virtual friends. :)

(yes I know I should have got an iPhone but I didn't fancy the monthly charges)

Just switch on, and move around. I found quite a few in Sidmouth that weren't 'encrypted'

while checking entries on cresby.com I found a pub listed on a site that had a name with wi-fi in it that basically listed UK venues like pubs and restaurants that had access as part of the selling features. Do a search for wi-fi hotspots or click here .

Most Wetherspoons have it available as a free service, ask at the bar for the passwords.
Just checked their websites, doesn't seem to be one in Sidmouth!

I believe McDonalds burger shops have free wi-fi which can be accessed if you are close - car parking distance...
Quack!
