Subject: Events/Sessions in Northumbria (UK) From: manitas_at_work Date: 17 Jul 09 - 11:54 AM Liz (LTS), Limpit and are are sojourning near Haltwhistle in the week commencing 1st August. Are there any nearby events or sessions? There is a session/singaround in Catton but I'm not sure there will be anything on in that week. We'll be whizzing about the countryside during the day so we probably won't be up to travelling far in the evenings. |

Subject: RE: Events/Sessions in Northumbria (UK) From: John J Date: 17 Jul 09 - 01:29 PM I don't know about sessions, but there's an excellent pub, The Wallace Arms, close by. The food and beer are tremendous - well they were in May last year. John |

Subject: RE: Events/Sessions in Northumbria (UK) From: GUEST Date: 18 Jul 09 - 04:27 AM There's a gathering of Northumbrian Pipers at Wallington Hall on Sun 2nd in the afternoon. |
Subject: RE: Events/Sessions in Northumbria (UK) From: Wolfhound person Date: 18 Jul 09 - 04:53 PM As Guest says - we'll be playing in traditional pitch, though. Starts at 2pm. The Hall is worth seeing too, and if you're NT members, it is of course free. Chesters Walled Herb Garden is in its last year open to the public - not musical but worth an afternoon wander. Haltwhistle is a long way from anywhere (part of its charm, really) Paws |
