Sue, it won't have to be talked out. It's a Lords bill and it needs the Conservatives and the Lib Dems to join forces to outvote New Labour.

Even if they do and it gets to the Commons, there New Lab has an outright majority, and that is that.

Why has no one mentioned writing to Andy Burnham, the Culture Secretary? Is it pointless?

Petition to sign - please do it (if you're in the UK)
"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to stop criminalising live music with the Licensing Act, and to support amendments backed by the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, and the music industry, which would exempt most small-scale performances in schools, hospitals, restaurants and licensed premises."

Signed - but seeing how Les Barker is not now the Poet Laureate after I signed that petition I cannot see anything positive on this happening.

Signed. We have to keep banging at the door of common sense. One day there may be someone there who understands the words.

Signed by both Winnie and myself.

It's not attracting too much in the way of interest, though.

Think I'll indulge in a little arm twisting elsewhere.
