I have just returned from seeing the Urban Folk Quartet. My goodness, I have never been impressed by anything so much in all my life. The arrangements were *so* inventive and original, and I have never seen a band smile so much while performing. They so obviously get a huge kick out of what they do. Hyperbole aside, I really don't think it's possible to get 4 more talented individuals in one band.

Please treat yourself and see them. You can hear them on their website , which doesn't have much on it yet. The recording on the site gives no real indication of just how good they are in the flesh. Their My Space page has a list of forthcoming gigs.

They are doing a free concert recording for later transmission on BBC Radio Lancashire's "The Drift" programme. The free concert takes place at Clitheroe's The Grand on November 11th. It's ticketed so you need to contact the venue or the BBC's ticket line afore ye go.

They are wonderful, saw them last night at Huntingdon Hall in Worcester. So lively inventive and different. Everybody seemed to really enjoy the gig. can't wait to see them again.

Went to see them last night at the Huntingdon Hall. They were incredible! Brilliant music, lots of audience interaction & some of the best musicians in the country. What a night. I can recommend them to anyone. I took a load of kids from the school that I teach at and they loved it as well. They really are for anyone. GO AND SEE THEM!!!!!

I saw The Urban Folk Quartet last night at Huntingdon Hall in Worcester and they were absolutely superb. Extremely talented people who played a variety of instruments with such joy that it was a pleasure to watch. I urge everyone to go and see them!

Saw this band at Huntingdon Hall Worcester yesterday and they were brilliant. The musicians were extremely talented, able to play a wide range of instruments between them and took such pleasure from playing it was very evident in their faces. The only problem was there was no dance area as I am sure many people would have loved to get up and move - there was certainly a great deal of foot tapping!!! If you get the chance to see them definitely go!!!
