Oops, sorry peeps!

I am quite new to Mudcat and I'm mainly into bluegrass/old time stuff myself. Having read some of the threads about what is or is not "folk" I was a teensy bit apprehensive.....!!

But I am quite sure that all those who don't mind a bit of American flavour would LOVE the Drops. I also find them much much better live than on their recordings. You won't be disappointed!!

Old Timey may be the description , but they are a VERY Folk oriented band !

Few??? Whataya mean FEW? There are a lot of us here!

Though those dates seem a bit far off, it's not too soon for people in the UK to start making plans. If you've already got plans, change them. If the CCD are new to you, then go to youtube and be prepared to get excited about their music. They are extremely worthy of the hype that has followed them from the beginning.

I know it's old-timey rather than "folk" but I thought a few visitors to this site may be interested and I haven't seen any references to it yet......the fabulous Carolina Chocolate Drops are returning to the UK for a series of dates in early 2010, as follows...

January 26 :: Celtic Connections Festival :: Glasgow, UK
January 28 :: Town Hall :: Gateshead, UK
January 30 :: Derby Theatre :: Derby, UK
January 31 :: Memorial Hall :: Sheffield, UK
February 3 :: St. George's :: Bristol, UK
February 4 :: Bush Hall :: London, UK
February 5 :: Arlington Arts Centre :: Newbury, UK
February 6 :: The Met :: Bury, UK
