While looking for tune variations to Badger Clark's "Roundup Lullaby," which is sometimes called "Cowboy's Lullaby" or "Cowboy Lullaby," I came across this old recording of a different "
Cowboy Lullaby" sung (and yodeled) by Bob Hill and The Spring Valley Boys.

I like the recording, and I could transcribe the lyrics (though it's a pretty fast version), but maybe someone already has them typed out. Also I'd like to know how old the song is and who wrote it. Anyone know?

Genie

All,

So, a few years ago I created a webpage with some recorded versions of the song versions of "A Roundup Lullaby".

Here is the original page:
http://chefjuke.com/badger/

I've since made a small video documenting my search for the song as well as my memories of growing up with it. The video is here:

The video was a present for my Mom on her recent 80th Birthday.

I wouldn't have found the orgigns of the song without the help of the folks on the Mudcat Cafe.

Would love any comments or feedback.

Sincerely,

Chef Juke

Hello, Chef Juke. I'll check out your project about 'Roundup Lullaby."

Meanwhile, Genie, are you still interested in "Cowboy Lullaby" five years later? Did you ever learn it?

I enjoyed listening to it. Good yodeling!

Yo, Patrice, I love your site. I'll visit it again. Enjoyed the story about the best burger y'ever ate. Good work and good writing :-)
