Subject: Tune Req: Malpas Wasail - does it have a 'tune' From: sleepyjon Date: 06 Jan 10 - 11:22 AM I've heard several renderings of the Malpas Wassail - always with immense harmonies - but is there an actual "tune" that I should know if I would like to "lead" this in a session? |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Malpas Wasail - does it have a 'tune From: RTim Date: 06 Jan 10 - 11:45 AM There is a tune in the Revels songbook, where I think it is called "A Cornish Wassail". It can also be found - of sorts, in Peter Kennedy's Book of English Folk Songs. Tim Radford PS. If this was the ONLY song I was ever be allowed to sing again, I would be happy! |
