Subject: RE: Joe Penland North Carolina workshop, Lewes From: peregrina Date: 23 May 10 - 07:22 PM Thanks Valmai, and the others who did all the organizing work. Really an excellent time: Joe evoked the world of the singers recorded on collections like 'High Atmosphere', 'Dark Holler' and 'Far in the Mountains' with great warmth, vividness and humour; his own stories and personal connections to those keepers of the old songs made that corner of North Carolina seem very close to Lewes. |
