Hello one and all - I shall be in Brighton for three days in a couple of weeks (18th-20th April)and was wondering if there were any folk/acoustic open sessions happening on the sunday, monday or tuesday evening. I will be missing my beloved weekly session at home and would love to get to one on my travels!

Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated.

We've got Shirley Collins giving a couple of presentations at the Lewes Saturday Folk Club on Saturday 17th. and Sunday 18th. April. Floor singers are welcome and we start off with a few join-in tunes. Lewes is about eight miles inland from Brighton and there are three trains an hour.

In the daytime Shirley is leading English folk song workshops, but they are sold out.

Sounds good - I know Lewes - was there in the summer. Sounds like it's worth the trip inland Sunday.
I am in Brighton for work and on one night there is a 'social' comprising of a karaoke and disco - anti-social I may be but the thought of drunks hollering out some bad Robbie Williams songs curls my toes!
I will find my folk! :-D
