Loxley are in a concert in Bromyard on 1st May tho, but I won't see any of you there obviously.

Got a vague message from the festival asking us to learn the tune to Lily The Pink, so just out of interest (having not been to Upton before) can anyone shed any light on why?

In answer to your question - sfmans from Powderkegs- each year at Upton there's a mad massed dance on Saturday afternoon in the 'arena' outside the Kings Head. All the sides join in but each does their own thing as far as dancing is concerned. The only common factor is that the musicians all play the designated tune which, this year, is Lily the Pink.
Often various very unmorris-like figures get devised and copied by other sides as the (lengthy) dance goes on. Picture utter chaos with everyone falling about laughing and you've probably got it right.

We (Exmoor Border) are looking forward to Dancing up the Sun with Powderkegs and others on May Day. Any one else - please PM me if you would like to join us.

And of course everyone is welcome to come and dance or play with Herbaceous Border on Saturday - probably afternoon/early evening under the bridge.
