Subject: Pig's Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Richard Bridge Date: 03 May 10 - 05:34 AM There doesn't appear to be a fred about this yet. http://www.pigs-sty.com/event.php?id=17 There is a rumour that the teeshirts are back - in sizes to fit folk singers up to 4XL, but I can't find the link to them as merchandise. Killer lineup this year! |

Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: GUEST,Pigstrings Date: 04 May 10 - 05:47 AM Yes, there is no charge for under 12s attending the Folk Ale. |

Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Pierre Le Chapeau Date: 04 May 10 - 08:14 AM Re tickets I cannot order any thing in advance due to a elderly relative being ill and me being his overseer i could be called away any time and I could also miss the event altogether if the worst comes to the worst being has such I prefer to pay at the door.I have missed out on other events in the past having paid for them in advance its disappointing to not be able to attend ,more so to be out of pocket and disappointed I am looking forward very much to this event i went for the first time last year and had a wonderful time Kind regards to all and look forward to seeing you all there. Pierre. |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Richard Bridge Date: 04 May 10 - 08:31 AM Ah, would a kind elf combine my earlier fred about this with this one? A postal address to which to send cheques would be nice for those who read the Google Accounts terms of service and are not prepared to agree to them (like me!) I heard a rumour that Teeshirts were back on the counter this year, but if they are I can't find them in the pigsty site. How much are they? Make mine a 3XL please! It would be very good if FaF teeshirts etc were also on sale on a teeshirt counter if any (and if the nighttime temperatures go down as they have done some previous years the FaF hoodies might be a nice little earner for FaF). Will the FaF banner be flown? |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Pigstrings Date: 04 May 10 - 02:36 PM Point taken - I will put a downloadable order form up on the folkale.co.uk site for those who prefer to order by post. Address is St Clares, Mill Hill, edenbridge, Kent TN8 5DQ, cheques payable to S. Rule please. T-shirts are available, price £12 (£8 for childrens') - there'll be a new Ben Scruton Original design for 2010 but please pre-order (Richard - your order noted!) There will only be a few T shirts available "at the counter" (ie not pre-ordered). The cost of production is quite high, and we can't risk getting too many left over - we end up out of pocket. Similar budgetting issues apply to "hoodies", but we might think about having that option for the future!! (Or perhaps customised hot water bottles...?) The Kentish Horse and the Kentish Pig will be in evidence this year as last.... |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Pierre Le Chapeau Date: 04 May 10 - 08:05 PM How about Pig Ear Fest Tee Shirt "/Hooodie. Blank space so one can write there own date? Im off to bed to much ale . . |

Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: VirginiaTam Date: 05 May 10 - 02:26 AM This will be my first Pig's Ear. Indeed first time in our own caravan. Baptism by fire, I suspect. I hereby decree that since the Sweeps was somewhat soggy then Pig's Ear is destined to be dry (but only weather wise). Roll on June. |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Richard Bridge Date: 05 May 10 - 02:34 AM VT - not baptism of fire but drowning (the inner Baptist). |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: VirginiaTam Date: 05 May 10 - 02:43 AM not for me Richard. I am back on chemo so not permitted to imbibe. Though if this past weekend is any indication, TSO will make up for my lack of support to the beer festival side of this event. |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: VirginiaTam Date: 05 May 10 - 02:45 AM oh I will also twist the arm of a certain soro corvus. (Did I do that right? I never took Latin.) We should just demand her attendance. |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Pierre Le Chapeau Date: 05 May 10 - 04:57 AM VT you will like Pigear. It is a glorious campsite setting and the evening sessions are very good. I am setting off on the Thursday this year and I am going to make the most of this great event. The weather was excellent last year I wore me black waistcoat for much of the time and caught the sun accordingly. When I took the waistcoat off I had a perfect bleached white waistcoat underneath. There again if it rains? the field can take on the appearance of The Somme in repect of Mud. |

Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Girl Friday Date: 07 May 10 - 12:35 PM Tam- you aren't the only one who's got confused over the pricing. The £5.00 a night refers to day ticket holders only. Had to explain that to somebody last year. If Msr. Le C is having a go about Mr Leopard sleeping through the last marqueee erection, he wishes to remind him that in healthier days, he almost put the thing up on his own. Mr L'hat was dans l'hostelry avec amis. |

Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: GUEST Date: 09 May 10 - 01:07 PM Hello. We have only been to previous 'ales' for visits during the day, this year we can stay the whole weekend, can you advise me if the camping ticket is for campervans and not just tents? Also are there portaloo or other facilities? we have a basic VW rather than a modern vehicle with jacuzzi, water bed and hd television! thank you Stephen Farles |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: The Barden of England Date: 09 May 10 - 01:55 PM Stephen - campervans are fine (I'll be in my caravan), and there are plenty of portaloos and water on site too. John Barden |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Richard Bridge Date: 09 May 10 - 03:07 PM After the success of the Brian Rodgers bog driving trophy a couple of years back and some other tow-out crises I think they now generally try to get the caravans near the top of the field(s) in the drier flatter bits, and the tents lower down. |
Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Cap n' Ella Date: 09 May 10 - 04:20 PM Fear not we shall be around from Friday till Sunday afternoon avec Range Rover + tow rope and more than happy to assist with towing in or out - caravans, campervans, tents, awnings, drunks and other fallen livestock. |

Subject: RE: Pigs Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2010 From: Richard Bridge Date: 10 May 10 - 07:56 AM I believe but cannot bindingly state that organisers prefer to have advance requests for the open mic as it facilitates ordering a balanced programme - but that they may respond to informal requests on the day (partly depending on existing prior pressure on the time). |
