Could someone give me some info on dating these guitars?
Gibson LG1
1.-When did the pick-guard change from teardrop to large style?
2.-What years did these guitars have plastic bridges?
3.-Did they ever have the adjustable bridges?
4.-What year did they stop using the banner headstock?

I own a '52 LG-1 - a grand guitar. Looks like it went through the Korean and Vietnam wars, it's so pock-marked. Just dropped a harmonica case on it, to add another insult to injury.

I believe the banner headstock vanished some time in the late 40s (never seen one), plastic bridges came in round about the early 60s (late 50s?) Not aware of an LG-1 ever having an adjustable bridge.

Gibson numbering was notoriously difficult to work out, last time I looked. But it can be done. Trawl the net and you'll find the info.

These are seriously-loved guitars. People bang on about LG-2 etc., but I've played some of those, and personally I can't hear or feel much difference. Except price. No doubt I am open to contradiction on that.

I've had about half a dozen LG-1 and LG-0s they're about the bottom of the line for Gibsons, being kind of plain and unadorned but they each played well enough and sounded good.

There seems to be plenty of other sites online that specialize in these. I have little to offer as to identifying specifics. I'd type the guitar's model into a search engine and looks for more info that way.

Reggie,
I followed your advice and found this site http://home.provide.net/~cfh/gibson.html

Here are the answers to my questions in case anyone else is interested:

1.-When did the pick-guard change from teardrop to large style?
    A-Larger pick-guard in 1955. The pick-guard became thicker in 1963.
2.-What years did these guitars have plastic bridges?
    A-Plastic bridge introduced in 1962
3.-Did they ever have the adjustable bridges?
    A-Rosewood adj. bridge in 1966
4.-What year did they stop using the banner headstock?
A-Banner discontinued in 1946 (There waa LG1 in The Twelfth Fret in Toronto with a banner headstock on May 3,2010.)
