Subject: Mose Scarlett in Glasgow From: Rick Fielding Date: 12 Aug 99 - 11:16 AM When it comes to fingerpicking and singing old time songs, there's no one on the planet who can outswing my valued friend Mose Scarlett. He's just wrapping up an extended British Isles tour before heading back to Toronto, and since he'll be staying with mudcatter "Knock-knee'd one" (known in some marsupial circles as "knockers") perhaps he'll see this and recount any recent adventures. I'm told that huge helpings of roast beef and yorkshire pudding accompanied by gallons of exotic libations await him near Toll Cross rd. I'm also anxiously awaiting his return 'cause I gotta get some new promo pics and Mose is the only photographer that I can stand in front of without fidgeting. Perhaps he'll give us a cyber version of "As Time Goes By" before digging in to all that good food. Rick |
Subject: RE: Mose Scarlett in Glasgow From: McKnees Date: 12 Aug 99 - 04:17 PM I am not yet in possession of the Scarlett one and am eagerly awaiting his arrival, I have a lovely bit aberdeen angus waiting. I thought a trip "doon tha watter" on the only remaining paddle steamer in Britain might be nice but the weather may not be obliging. Although there are many other things to do in doors if it's not. The feline populus from Mudland would be most welcome here. And in celebration of the concertina's arrival we could go to the "box" club in Lanark although it would be a mixture of boxes you would hear there. |
Subject: RE: Mose Scarlett in Glasgow From: Duckboots Date: 12 Aug 99 - 04:52 PM While we are all eagerly awaiting the return of "The Scarlett One", it would be really nice to be there this weekend and have a good roast beef dinner, some 'exotic libations' and maybe even the company of some Mudcatters. I was, until recently, unaware of this plan to introduce a concertina into the Fielding home, however, now that I've been enlightened I can assure you that no effort will be spared to prevent this dreadful occurrence. What's this 'box' club in Lanark? Are concertina players being kept away from the general population? Duckboots |
Subject: RE: Mose Scarlett in Glasgow From: McKnees Date: 12 Aug 99 - 05:01 PM Yes I think that is the general idea, My friend at work Rhona, is just learning and she is already quite good, I think that it helped that she already played the bagpipes. I sorta like that kinda music. Gets the feet tapping. I,m soo sooorrry you hadn't seen that thread. We,ll phone tomorrow Love Knockers ok I've given in. |
Subject: RE: Mose Scarlett in Glasgow From: Rick Fielding Date: 12 Aug 99 - 05:19 PM I'm afraid that duckboots feels about concertinas the way I feel about ONIONS. However I'd never try to prevent her from playing an onion! Rick (who still needs one, and wants to know where joely has gone) |
Subject: RE: Mose Scarlett in Glasgow From: McKnees Date: 12 Aug 99 - 05:41 PM Perhaps if you knew your onions about the concertinas the tears duckboots would be shedding would be not be in vain. Do you have the plugs Duckie. Commiserations Knockers |
