Subject: Lyr Add: F. D. R. IN TRINIDAD (Fitz MacLean, 1937) From: John Hindsill Date: 14 Aug 99 - 10:44 AM Roosevelt In Trinidad (Fitz McLean) Recorded 2/16/37 by Atilla (Raymond Quevado) [from booklet in Rounder CD 1142, Roosevelt in Trinidad, released 1999]
When Roosevelt came to the land of the Hummingbird,
There are three additional verses. The CD should be readily available at your nearest independent record (er, I mean music/CD) store, or even thru the internet. There are 25 cuts of "events, places, and personalities 1933-39". For those of us who remember them, paeans to the Four Mills Bros. and to Bing Crosby are also interesting.
Have fun with this, CarlZen.---John PS: Somewhere I do have the Ry Cooder version; trust me, this is better. |

I'm now listening to this CD. Timely. I got it with some other caribbean recordings last week. ~Masato
