TG4, the Irish language TV station, has broadcast an excellent series on the musical heritage of Irish Travellers (once called intinerants, tinkers - and a lot more beside.) I'm not sure about overseas access but you might like to try:

Don't know how accessible Lyric FM is outside Ireland, but Paula Carroll's radio programme on Travellers 'The Blue Tar Road' is due to be broadcasted on Saturday 26th June at 7pm.
Paula has an excellent track record for programme making, both on Irish music in general and specifically on Traveller culture, having done some excellent work herself on the subject.
