Hopefully Phil is well on the road back to a full recovery.

Best wishes, Phil. Something like this will certainly make you re-think your lifestyle (I had a bypass and valve replacement last year), but there's no reason why you shouldn't make a full recovery - so long as you keep up the enthusiasm - it's what kept me going through some very dark days. Be positive!

Hey Phil, welcome to the club, take it steady and easy, I had two stents installed in October 2003. Still kicking, ran 5km yesterday, OK so I was up to ten a a couple of years after it happened, just maintainance now. I hadnt run for 20 years prior to the Mio Cardio Infarction though.
Good Luck, just take a step back and have a look at the lifestyle stuff, whatever you do, DO NOT STOP PLAYING AND SINGING.
JohnB

Same thing happened to me a year ago. Not many problems to show for it. The one I didn't expect is that I can't drink G&Ts any more - the quinine in good-quality tonic gives me palpitations.

One practical tip: get a diary pill dispenser. You'll be on an unfuckingbelievable number of tablets and it really is a pain to pop them all out the foil twice a day.

from someone who has been there and not so long ago, Look after yourself, spend time getting really well, then step back and re evaluate your life.. then start living again.

I think Jack means a "daily pill" dispenser!

They're not just daily - usually they have four time slots per day (I use two). Since they're labelled Monday to Sunday, I think of them as diaries with lumps of chemicals instead of notes in ink. So "diary dispenser" is the phrase I use. What the official name might be I have no idea.

Great musician, great bloke. Not too long since I last saw Phil play, and with a bit of luck it won't be too long before the next time.
