From: GUEST,Doxy

Hi Everyone,
like many others we mourned the ending of Lancaster Maritime Festival and the gathering at Easter which was always such a brilliant start to the season.
Trimrig and a Doxy and Loctup Together have joined forces to organise a festival next Easter and hope it can become an annual event. The festival organisation is called Shanty UK and the web site is here www.shanty.org.uk (sorry I can't do blue clicky things) We have the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port as a venue and already have some great artists expressing an interest in being there. Keep an eye on the web site for further information and we'll up date here too.

Doxy

Moorley Man,
no maritime event would be complete without your presence. Try the shipping office link and send us an email and we'll keep you in the loop with what is going on.

Burl,
link at shipping office should be working now. We have lots of others coming through. Make sure when you type in the letters to show you are a really truly man and not a demon spammer (there be dragons out there)that you use capitals. If that fails go to the trim rig and a doxy site and send to us from there.

Mike,
Pidgeon arrived safely. Message in a bottle on it's way to you.

Hissffit,
Your documents have been stamped. Hold tight for orders.

We've had a great response to the idea of the festival already.

Cheers Everyone

Doxy

Went to Ellesmere Port once. I was out on the canals with a bunch of steam railway preservers. We went in the waterways museum. One of the number was very impressed with the display of different varieties of coal...
Quack!

Hi Snuffy,

is there a bit of the title or something on the cat I don't know about or can't see?
We carefully put Ellesmere Port in the thread title so there would be no confusion.....................
We can't replace lancaster but hope we can be a great and fun gathering of like minded people who love the music and want to keep it alive!

PS The big link to the festival site is great!!!!!!. Someone will have to teach me how to do big writing and blue clickies

Hiya All,
We can confirm the beer will be wet. The Boat Museum Society do a run up to Chester and bring barrels of real ale back. They are there in strength at Eastter with narrow boats and some interesting competitions!!!!! Tug o war acrosss the canal locks, suggest we put together a shanty team and decide what long haul shanty to use while we're tugging.
We'l mention to them that they might need an extra barrel or two........
There are a couple of bars at the museum and we're talking to the site manager about preferences for proper beer. No reason why people can't bring their own and there are local hostelries that purvay the amber nectar............
And I thought it was all going to be about the music.
Cheers and Bottoms Up (referring of course to your glasses)

Hi Everyone
Breaking news.............the museum is agreeing to put on real ale (YES REAL ALE)
We are confirming with artists at the moment and will be posting here and on the web site information about who will definitely be on the program.
Watch this space............
The news feature on the web page has a place on it where people can comment. Do keep an eye on the news and tell us what you think. If you click 'view all' a box for you to comment in will pop up. We're applying for funding at the moment so a show of public interest would be a big help.
Cheers
