Subject: Liz the Squeak tours Devon and Cornwall! From: Liz the Squeak Date: 29 Jul 10 - 12:45 AM The East London Chorus will be touring a few places in Devon and Cornwall next week, so if you're in the area, come along to Lanlivery Parish Church, 7.30pm on Saturday 31st July; Exeter Cathedral Chapter House, 1.15pm on Monday 2nd August (easily reached from Sidmouth Festival); Buckfast Abbey, 7.15pm on Tuesday 3rd August or Truro Cathedral, 2.30pm on Wednesday 4th August. We're singing a variety of pieces over the week, by composers such as Howard Goodall (including the Vicar of Dibley theme with yours truly starring as boy soprano), Buxtehude, Benjamin Britten, Charles Wood and others. It's not the sort of music I'm usually known for (although there are verses about sinful fantasy and a chamois in the Lanlivery programme....), but if you fancy a not too painful respite from the world around you, or just sitting down for free for an hour or so, come along, we'd love to see you! Subject: RE: Liz the Squeak tours Devon and Cornwall! From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 29 Jul 10 - 06:17 PM I can't be there, but best wishes for successful concerts. I'm impressed by your program. Is it the Buxtehude that calls for the boy-soprano sound? Meanwhile, for your delectation, here is a link to another British composer. (It's short.) Listen carefully; it's a duet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2N9BN-mYrw&feature=related |
