Can anyone tell me if there are any sessions around Whitby during August as I am taking family on holiday there. (I know that I won't be there for Whitby Folk Week unfortunately)

There's a mainly Irish session in The Ship, Whitby on the third sunday in the month.

There's a good friendly mixed singers/musicians session every Tuesday night in the First Inn Last Out (and on the first Saturday in the month ) It gets going from 8.30pm(ish)onwards First Inn Last Out and a regular Sunday evening session at The Station Inn (old Tap & Spile ) which I think starts about 8pm though I've not been to that one for a while.      Cheers Ann

Saltburn festival isn't TOO far away. 15th - 18th August with a folk club on the 14th. Check out the site.

Singaround (sometimes with guest) at White Hart in Mickleby on a Saturday evening. Not far away.

Saltburn is only half an hour's drive from Whitby. The folk festival is well worth going to.
