Asked by some "catters" for another quiz. This one is 15 questions to find 15 American artists.
1. Who is Known as the first legendary women singer/songwriter of folk music.

3. This man with his low grumbly voice has been about since the late 1970's & done movie soundtracks & compulations

1. If "American" means "North" and not "United States of", it's Joni. If not, Mary Travers?

Did not expect you all to be so quick of the mark. Sorry to say Arthur itus you were only right with 2, 7 & 14. Try no1 with a diffrent clue no. & 8 is a male artist but your answer also belongs to another question.

The word "legenday" is a bit off the mark as is "folk music" regarding Joni Mitchell. Many true folk artists are also songwriters. So if you want an actual honest-to-god legend, a true "folk" artist, and a very good songwriter, who was around long before Joni........Jean Ritchie.

Not an opinion, just the plain truth.

Also........He started out on banjo first and then added fiddle and later guitar. A gentle and very poetic songwriter and a true folk artist as well.......John Hartford is probably not who you're looking for, but he fits the bill.

Well done Jeri. correct. He was given a guitar as a present but his brother pinched it before he could learn so took up the banjo instead- glad he returned to the guitar.
So that is all the correct answers in today- have to come up with a lot hard questions next time.
