Subject: RE: Young'uns & Hissyfit at KFFC 25/9 From: Linda Kelly Date: 09 Sep 10 - 03:35 PM Two of Sean's best songs on the new CD Stockton Town and Love Song-quite superb. Dont know about big venues but we sat in the Station in Whitby-The Younguns Jim Causley Hissyfit and a couple of others quite happy to sing to anyone who wanted to listen. One of the few occassions when size doesnt matter! |
Subject: RE: Young'uns & Hissyfit at KFFC 25/9 From: Banjiman Date: 09 Sep 10 - 04:15 PM Size of the venue? Not that big, it is licensed for 105 but we'll be keeping numbers down to 80(ish) as we have to fit the bar in as well...... oh, and mountains of shortbread!!! My kids think "No More Frying Bacon" (wrotten bt Sean)is the best thing on the album. They've already learned it and performed it in a singaround at Wadebridge Folk Festival last week ...... hope Sean doesn't mind!! They have been taught to credit things properly!! |
Subject: RE: Young'uns & Hissyfit at KFFC 25/9 From: Pistachio Date: 10 Sep 10 - 07:10 AM Hartlepool song is the best ever - and Love song was wonderful when we asked/demanded Sean sing it with Kimbers men, La Kelly + moi at the end of a mini gig in Cleckheaton. The more I listgen to the new CD the more I like it..... H PS I understand exactly what I meant (in my previous post) it's just that I suffer from VFS? ! Answers on a postcard please?? |

Subject: RE: Young'uns & Hissyfit at KFFC 25/9 From: Banjiman Date: 13 Sep 10 - 02:34 PM Birthday Bash date is 12 - 14th November. Another great line - up: Jez Lowe, Duncan McFarlane Acoustic Band, Trim Rig & A Doxy (assuming Derek is OK), Acoustica, C13, John & Caroline Bushby and much, much more. Plenty of singaround time, booked floor spots, Real Ale Bar.... etc, etc! The Younguns with the Young Arrowsmith's! Is it OK for me to be a proud parent? (.. and where did my son learn that Hartlepool accent??) Thanks for a superb night. Paul |
Subject: RE: Young'uns & Hissyfit at KFFC 25/9 From: nutty Date: 26 Sep 10 - 01:14 PM It was an absolutely brilliant evening with everyone on fine form. A shining example of a brilliant folk club. You and Wendy have every reason to be proud Paul. The children were brilliant as well. I know of few youngsters who would sit through a 3hr+ concert and be as well behaved as yours. The vidoe doesn't really do them justice - it was a magic moment, particularly seeing the joy on their faces as the came off stage. |

Still keep it up lads once social services have pulled out a finger or three I might be able to get some rest bite from my 24/7 care job. Still I couldn't be more pleased that you had the great night that I knew you all would have. |
Subject: RE: Young'uns & Hissyfit at KFFC 25/9 From: GUEST Date: 27 Sep 10 - 05:42 PM The kids were amazing -I think the lads were blown away by them! talk about the confidence of youth! |
Subject: RE: Young'uns & Hissyfit at KFFC 25/9 From: Tyke Date: 27 Sep 10 - 10:57 PM Guest is you suggesting that the Young'uns have grown out of their name and due to the competition need an update? I have just watched a documentary on West Hartlepool and I have to agree all the Hartle Pudlians that I have met over the years are a very friendly bunch and they all have a great sense of community. |
Subject: RE: Young'uns & Hissyfit at KFFC 25/9 From: Banjiman Date: 28 Sep 10 - 02:47 AM I've just been talking to my kids about this thread. They said the Young'uns should keep their name but they (The Arrowsmith brood) would henceforth like to be known as "The Even Younger'uns". Well, made me giggle anyway! I suspect that they will remember Saturday night for the rest of their lives. |
