Anyone have words, chords and or guitar tabs for Yankee Boots? Saw him live with the Big Bad Pennies at Fyvie in Aberdeenshire and he was awesome!

Subject: Lyr Add: YANKEE BOOTS (Jez Lowe)
From: Jim Dixon

Here's my transcription from the recording at YouTube. I am in doubt about several phrases that don't make much sense to me. Perhaps others can make corrections.

YANKEE BOOTS
Jez Lowe
As sung by The McCalmans

1. Yankee boots upon her feet she wore
To walk the stony streets of Boston,
And Yankee music black man's beat was all
It took that night to get her dancing,
And as she looked out on the rain, she said:
"Tonight El Salvador is crying,"
And when she wrote from there today it read:
"It's always Yankee boots out marching."

CHORUS: But that's so far away,
All those miles away,
And all your friends will say:
"Mind your own back yard."

2. She said, "They never talk of peace no more.
How did things ever get so desperate?"
She said, "They tell you to look east for war.
I tell you, keep your eyes out westward."
She said, "I dream of those New England nights
When these old boots were new and shining,
And when I wake up in the morning light,
It's always Yankee boots out marching." CHORUS

3. Your boots and clothes against the night too neat
To walk the stony sea of cobble,
And back-street lamps give enough light to meet
Where talk's of someone else's trouble.
Turn off that telly in this empty bar.
Its bloody news is not worth watching.
It's always battles fought ten times before.
It's always Yankee boots out marching. CHORUS

REPEAT VERSE 1 AND CHORUS.

Hi, Don - I moved your request to the original thread and added tab/chords to the title. Two current threads on one song is confusing.

Something like this I think?

YANKEE BOOTS
G                        C
Yankee boots upon her feet she wore
D                                G
To walk the stony streets of Boston,
G                                C
And Yankee music black man's beat was all
D                                G
It took that night to get her dancing,
G                                Em
And as we stood and wached the rain, she said:
C                        Am
"Tonight El Salvador is weeping,"
                        C
And when she wrote from there today it read:
D                                Em
"There's always Yankee boots out marching."

CHORUS:
                  C                   D                Em
But that's all far away,      All those miles away,
                C               D                                Em
And all your friends will say:    "Mind your own back yard."
