Phonetic transliteration is an unsolvable problem, particularly for those who are used to reading English. Pronunciation hints are required. You know how to read German, so that the transliteration on German Wikipedia may give you a more accurate idea of the pronunciation.

(I must add that my skills in Russian are far from what you may expect, and they would be zero if I had not made an effort to reacquire them as an adult.)

This is one of those melodies that everybody knows, but nobody knows the words. These are the lyrics we have so far for the upcoming Rise Again songbook, but I don't have a credible source to verify the lyrics. Can anybody check them for accuracy?

Hebrinka was a Ukranian poet who first published his Russian lyrics in 1843. This cabaret song was popularized by Fyodor Chaliapin.

Hey guys, I'm looking for the chords for the Russian Folk Song Dark Eyes. Looking around the web I've found lyrics and renditions in acoustic guitar, but not the specific chords as if to accompany a singer with the guitar in Russian Folk style. The closest I've come to is the chords to the Django Reinhardt version, but I'm looking for the traditional version.

I have found alot of different versions of this song in Russian and English. Does anyone on here perform this in English? If so what version do you sing. I have found a bunch but alot don't seem to flow very well.
