I give fair warning that some readers may find the following song title offensive, but I understand that Cab Calloway sang this in a movie in the 30's. Among other references the song refers to new shoes and 'a warm place to shit. If I believed that this song was real folk - whatever that is - I may have been less coy in my request. Regards, John

I suspect that an answer to this request might best be sent via personal message, don't you?

But you may be able to find either the lyrics or a recorded source here.

Thanks Alan, The Cab Calloway site is excellent and while I didn't get the answer, there was some interesting reading about the effect of Hays censorship in 1935. The song I referred to was apparently used in a film, so can only assume that it was released pre 1935 in USA, or was not released there for quite some time. Judging from the full title of the song I expected any lyric respondents would use their discretion in posting the lyrics. Regards, John

John,

What is the title of the song - (was it so offensive that it got wiped from the 'Cat - or did you use quote-marks or something which made it disappear from the thread?)
