Subject: CBC Royalties - How Much? From: jeffp Date: 04 Nov 10 - 01:11 PM I've been informed that a song I co-wrote is likely to be played on CBC. CBC pays royalties automatically, it seems and if I want to receive them, I think I have to join ASCAP or BMI (I'm in the US). I would like to know if the effort will be worth it. Does anybody know how much songwriter royalties are per play on CBC? I'm just happy that it's getting played, but some money would be nice too. |

I was involved in a situation like that several years ago and one of the co-writers who is a BMI member extracted a fair bit of change from the CBC. The money arrived rather quickly so it may have come from CBC directly. |
