       For a variety of reasons this is really late in getting out, but I thought this should be known about for anyone in Western MA or those willing to travel. I'm helping put on a benefit for the Mystic Sea Music Festival. Information and tickets are available for the link below.

It was a great afternoon and evening. I do not know how much money was raised, but the place was packed.

According to Mr. Kaufman, the event raised 1,000 semolians for the cause. I was astounded and gratified at the turnout, Ashfield being on my side of the hill, so to speak. What a great thing to see that the rising tide of interest in songs of the sea has reached the foothills of the Berkshires.

By the way, the proprietress of Elmer's General Store and Cafe, right in the center of Ashfield, told me that they take ITLAPD very seriously, and would welcome chantey singers to their establishment every September 19th. The food alone is worth the trip.

Next year I'd be more than happy too help out. This year I heard nothing about this event until the initial post on this thread. But I'm pleased to hear there was a good turnout.
